The dining experience features meals served on Royal Doulton fine bone china along with cutlery exclusively made for Emirates by Robert Welch, with passengers able to pre-order main courses as early as 14 days and up to 24 hours before flying. Emirates' business class cabin is laid out in a staggered 1-2-1 configuration, featuring 76 seats on A380 aircraft, with two cabins offering different experiences. The newer refurbished 777 aircraft feature 1-2-1 configurations with 40 passengers that eliminate the dreaded middle seat and provide 78-inch lie-flat beds with 23-inch HD screens for Emirates' award-winning ICE entertainment system. All seats convert to fully flat beds with multiple adjustment settings including massage functions and premium amenities. The unique staggered layout on A380s makes half of the business-class seats 23 cm (9 in) shorter than the others, at only 1.8 m (70 in) long, while business class passengers also have access to an on-board bar at the rear of the aircraft. However, some flights operate older ex-aircraft configurations with dated finishes, though Emirates is changing cabin colors on newer planes with more understated tones.
