Delta One review, updated Oct 2026: which aircraft have Suites with doors, all 4 Delta One Lounges, food, routes, prices, and how it compares to United Polaris.

Delta One is the highest-rated US business class in 2026: in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2026, Delta ranks #13 worldwide for business class and #8 for business class seats, while United does not make the global top 20. The catch is that "Delta One" is two different products. Delta One Suites — on every A350-900 and A330-900neo — have a sliding privacy door. Delta's older widebodies (A330-200, A330-300, 767-300ER, 767-400ER) offer a flat bed but no door. Which one you get depends on the aircraft, so the seat map is the first thing to check when booking.

This review covers both versions, the four Delta One Lounges, food, routes, prices, and the comparison with United Polaris. For how Delta ranks among all transatlantic carriers, see best business class airlines to Europe.

Delta One Suites vs Delta One Without Doors

Factor Delta One Suites Delta One without doors
Privacy door Yes — sliding door at every seat No
Aircraft A350-900, A330-900neo A330-200, A330-300, 767-300ER, 767-400ER
Bed length A350-900: 76–77 in / 193–196 cm; A330-900neo: 79–80 in / 201–203 cm 767-400ER: ~77 in / 196 cm; varies on other types
Seat width A350-900: 20.5 in / 52 cm; A330-900neo: 22.5 in / 57 cm 767-400ER: 20 in / 51 cm
Screen 18 in / 46 cm (A350-900), 18.5 in / 47 cm (A330-900neo) 18.5 in / 47 cm on 767-400ER; older hardware on A330-200/-300
Where you are most likely to get it Transpacific routes; Seattle and Boston to Europe Many New York JFK–Europe flights

How to check: open the seat map for your exact flight on Delta.com and look at the aircraft type. A350-900 or A330-900neo means Suites with a door. Any other widebody means Delta One without a door. Aircraft swaps happen, so check again a few days before departure.

What is changing: in April 2026 Delta announced a retrofit of its A330-200 and A330-300 fleet with door-equipped Delta One suites, and a new-generation Delta One Suite with 24-inch (61 cm) screens on the A350-1000, which is scheduled to enter service in early 2027.

What You Get in Delta One Suites

Delta One Suite seat with sliding door and bedding

Delta operates 38 A350-900s and 39 A330-900neos with Delta One Suites — about 77 aircraft. Every seat in the 1-2-1 cabin has direct aisle access and a closing door.

  • Door: sliding privacy door at every seat
  • Bed: fully flat; longest and widest on the A330-900neo (79–80 in / 201–203 cm, 22.5 in / 57 cm wide)
  • Screen: 18–18.5 in / 46–47 cm seatback IFE
  • Bedding: Missoni duvet, pillow, and mattress pad on all Delta One flights since the end of 2025, plus a memory-foam pillow on flights over 12 hours
  • Amenity kit: Missoni design with Grown Alchemist skincare (introduced fall 2025)

If you are tall, aim for the A330-900neo: its bed is about 3 in / 7 cm longer than on the A350-900, and the seat is 2 in / 5 cm wider.

Delta One Lounges: All 4 Locations

Delta One Lounge seating area with apron views

Delta One Lounges are separate from the Sky Club network and open only to premium long-haul and transcon passengers. As of October 2026, four are open:

Airport Location Highlights
New York JFK Terminal 4 Flagship, ~40,000 sq ft / 3,700 m²; full-service brasserie, chef-assisted market, wellness area, year-round terrace
Los Angeles (LAX) Terminal 3 ~10,000 sq ft / 930 m²; à la carte dining, rotating sushi counter
Boston (BOS) Terminal E ~6,700 sq ft / 620 m²; New England seafood; open only around the evening Europe departure bank
Seattle (SEA) Concourse A ~10,000 sq ft / 930 m²; wraparound terrace with Mt. Rainier views

Coming next: Atlanta (Concourse E) is expected in 2028. Detroit, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City have been announced without a timeline. At those hubs, Delta One passengers use the Sky Club.

Who gets in: passengers flying Delta One the same day (including premium transcon flights), business and first class passengers of Air France, KLM, Korean Air, LATAM, and Virgin Atlantic (Air France and KLM passengers are excluded in Boston because of capacity), and Delta 360 members flying first class. Guests are generally not allowed.

Delta One Food and Wine

Delta One main course served at a business class seat

Criteria Delta One
Chef partnerships José Andrés (Spanish-inspired menu since November 2025, rolling out across routes through 2026); Union Square Events; Mashama Bailey on Atlanta flights
Pre-select Main course can be chosen up to 7 days before departure
Wine 20+ selections curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, rotated seasonally
Tableware Alessi

Delta One food is solid, but it is not where Delta leads. In the Skytrax 2026 awards, "Best Business Class Onboard Catering in North America" went to United, not Delta. Delta's real advantages are the door on Suites aircraft, the Missoni bedding, and the Delta One Lounges.

Is Delta One Worth It?

Delta One seatback entertainment screen in a business class suite

Yes — on an A350-900 or A330-900neo, especially on overnight flights. The door, a fully flat bed, and Delta One Lounge access at JFK, LAX, BOS, or SEA put it at the top of US carrier business class.

On aircraft without doors, Delta One is still a flat bed with direct aisle access, but the case is weaker. On the same route, compare it with Delta's joint-venture partners Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, which are often available at similar consolidator rates.

Delta One vs United Polaris

Factor (October 2026) Delta One United Polaris
Privacy door All A350-900s and A330-900neos (~77 aircraft) Only on reconfigured 787-9s with the new interior; doors activated from August 2026. Rest of the Polaris fleet has no door
Dedicated lounges 4: JFK, LAX, BOS, SEA 6: ORD, EWR, IAH, IAD, LAX, SFO
Alliance SkyTeam (Air France, KLM, Korean Air, Virgin Atlantic) Star Alliance (Lufthansa, Swiss, ANA, Singapore Airlines)
Main hubs ATL, JFK, BOS, LAX, SEA, DTW, MSP, SLC ORD, EWR, IAH, IAD, SFO, LAX, DEN
Skytrax 2026 #13 business class, #8 business class seats Outside global top 20; #1 business class catering in North America
Best for Travelers from ATL, JFK, BOS, SEA, DTW, MSP; door priority Travelers from ORD, EWR, IAH, IAD, SFO, DEN; Star Alliance miles

The verdict: Delta still has the bigger door-equipped fleet, but the gap is closing — United began unlocking doors on its new 787-9 Polaris seats in August 2026. United has more dedicated lounges (6 vs 4) and wins on catering in Skytrax's North America category. Pick the airline by your home hub and your exact aircraft. How Delta One Compares with European Carriers

Delta One passengers dining and sleeping in business class suites

  • Privacy: Delta One Suites are in the same class as door-equipped business seats on European carriers. Delta One without a door is behind them.
  • Bed: the A330-900neo bed (79–80 in / 201–203 cm) is competitive; the A350-900 bed (76–77 in / 193–196 cm) is on the short side.
  • Rankings: Skytrax 2026 puts Qatar Airways #1, Singapore Airlines #2, and Cathay Pacific #3 for business class; Delta is #13.
  • Network: in summer 2026 Delta flies more than 650 weekly flights to nearly 30 European destinations — the largest transatlantic schedule in its history — so many US travelers can fly nonstop instead of connecting.

What We Did Not Like

  • The door is a lottery outside Suites aircraft: from New York JFK, only about 13% of Europe-bound Delta One seats are Suites. Always check the aircraft type.
  • Short bed on the A350-900: 76–77 in / 193–196 cm is tight for tall travelers.
  • Only four Delta One Lounges: Atlanta, Delta's largest hub, has to wait until 2028. Boston's lounge is open only a few hours a day.
  • Food is not a differentiator: Skytrax gave North America's business class catering award to United.
  • Expensive awards: SkyMiles award prices are dynamic, and Delta One redemptions often cost hundreds of thousands of miles.
  • No onboard social space: unlike Virgin Atlantic, Delta One has no bar or lounge area on board.

Delta One Routes from the USA

Delta Air Lines aircraft in flight

Hub Key long-haul destinations Chance of Suites
Seattle (SEA) London, Paris, Amsterdam; new in 2026: Rome, Barcelona; Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Very high
Boston (BOS) London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome; new in 2026: Madrid, Nice High
Los Angeles (LAX) Paris; Tokyo Haneda, Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne; Hong Kong (since June 2026) High
Atlanta (ATL) London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome; Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Mixed — depends on the flight
Detroit (DTW) Amsterdam, Paris, London; Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Limited
Minneapolis (MSP) Amsterdam, Paris, London; Tokyo Haneda Mixed
New York (JFK) London, Paris, Amsterdam; new in 2026: Porto, Malta, Olbia Low (~13% of Europe-bound seats)

Transpacific flights to Asia and Australia are among Delta's longest and run almost entirely on A350-900s and A330-900neos, so Suites are close to guaranteed there. Delta flies to Tokyo only via Haneda (HND), not Narita.
